“CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Cuyahoga County grand jury has indicted a Cleveland police officer accused of assaulting a woman and slamming her head into a car bumper while he was off duty.
David Manns, 33, faces charges of felonious assault, kidnapping and abduction, according to the indictment made public Monday.
Manns is scheduled to be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. April 11.
Officers were called about 4:50 a.m. March 18 to the area of West 45th Street and Detroit Avenue, court documents show. The 31-year-old Seven Hills woman told police Manns grabbed her and “smashed her head on the bumper” of a car, the document says.
The woman received five stitches above her eye, and her shoulder was dislocated, documents show.
She was taken to the hospital, where detectives saw her injuries and took her statement.”
