TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A Tallahassee Police Officer is under arrest after what appears to be an episode of road rage last week. Officer James Harris faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a run-in with a cyclist last week.

Arrest papers say Harris’s minivan passed just inches away from the cyclist.

The victim was riding north on Lohnbladh Road near the intersection of Metropolitan Boulevard. The report says the victim reached out and slapped the side of the van. That van was being driven by James Harris, who was off duty at the time.

According to the arrest report, the two got into an argument and the victim says Harris grabbed him. The cyclist then started to pedal away when he says Harris got into his van, hit the gas and drove right towards him. The victim says if it weren’t for him moving off of the road he would have been hit.

TPD Officer David Northway says, “So we have to charge what is by Florida statute. That’s the way we have to do it. Road rage is a terminology that most people use, you certainly could use the moniker in that case but we’re not allowed to call it that.”

Harris turned himself in this afternoon and was booked in the Leon County Jail. Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon is a felony

Florida has some of the most violent and corrupt cops in the nation

Look at this guy as an example

It is simply who he is, whether in or out of uniform

This is the guy who pulls you over on a dark Florida highway

This is also the guy who testifies in court and his word is given the weight of truth

This is the guy who was a sworn officer of the court

One day before his arrest

This is the guy who can shoot to kill if he “Fears for his life”

One day before his arrest

This is the guy who is given default “Hero” status

One day before his arrest

This is the guy to whom nothing is more important than “Going home safe”

How did that work out for you?
