Who’s pulling you over? : Cop who works for P.D. that refuses body cams busted on cell phone beating man 19 times in the head

Sounds like a coincidence doesn’t it ? Make sure that the cops don’t have body cams so they can lie, cheat, steal and beat the crap out of people with impunity.  But, welcome to the cell phone age because you are on camera.   People have had enough of the police state and enough of out of control cops. It is time for them to be reigned in and reminded that we not only pay their salaries, but out number them a 1000 to 1.   Smarten up bully boys because you are soon to reap the whirlwind.

“St Johns County deputy sheriff Anthony J Deleo, Jr hit Christopher Butler 19-times with his baton and kicked him in the head twice while Butler was unarmed; and Historic City News readers know this because it was captured on video taken by an alert citizen using his smartphone.  The technology for police to create their own video using body cameras has been a possibility since the early-2000’s.

Deleo’s boss, lame-duck sheriff David Shoar, withdrew Deleo’s commission today, ending his employment with the sheriff’s office. Shoar also filed a criminal complaint with the State Attorney of the 7th Judicial Circuit who will review the case and decide if the charge against Deleo will be prosecuted.  Deleo is facing a charge of aggravated battery, a second-degree felony, for his use of force against Christopher Butler during the December 29th traffic stop.

Two other deputies who were involved in the incident, Joseph McGinnis and Patrick Ponticello, were placed on paid administrative leave after the video surfaced. Those deputies will not face criminal charges, according to Shoar; but their actions are still being investigated by internal affairs. The trooper who pulled Butler over and used his Taser on him was not disciplined, according to televised reports from an unnamed spokesman with the Florida Highway Patrol.

Butler’s lawyer, Attorney John Phillips, said he is looking into filing suit against the sheriff’s office, as well as the deputies involved. He claims that the lack of camera, particularly with St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office that refuses body cams, and the lack of video oversight, is an attempt to gain immunity.

In a public statement from Phillips, he said that he hopes more arrests are not coming.  “We hope reform is coming.  This is the first step towards justice. If you have information or have been abused by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, please come forward.”

Shoar made a front-page splash recently accompanied by his delegate, St Augustine Beach police chief Robert Hardwick (who is concurrently Robert Hardwick candidate for sheriff).  Both men and St Augustine City Police Chief Barry Fox arrogantly proclaimed that body cameras, which monitor an officer’s activity during a shift, invade personal privacy, come at a high cost, and lack sufficient accuracy.”

“EATONTON, Ga. – A former Eatonton police officer arrested last week on domestic violence charges has been arrested and charged in the murder of his wife.

Michael Seth Perrault, 43, was arrested Wednesday, Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills confirmed late Wednesday evening.

His wife, 44-year-old Amanda Pardue Perrault, of 133 Long Island Drive, Eatonton was found dead of a gunshot wound at the couple’s home near Lake Oconee on Monday afternoon.

She was shot once in the head with a .380-caliber handgun, according to Sills, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting, which happened in the couple’s bedroom, stemmed from a domestic argument between Amanda Perrault and her husband, Michael Perrault, then an officer with the Eatonton Police Department, Sills told reporters at his office Tuesday morning.

Sills said Monday that Michael Perrault told him that he witnessed his wife shoot herself.

After the shooting, Michael Perrault telephoned Eatonton Police Chief Kent Lawrence to report what had happened.

The police chief then called Sills to inform him.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. deputies and Detective Lt. Harry Luke and Detective Chris Harper along with Sills arrived on the scene and discovered the victim in the bedroom.

Sills said he later made a telephone call to the GBI office in Milledgeville to request the assistance of their crime scene unit.

Just last week, Perrault, 43, was arrested at his home on misdemeanor charges of simple assault under the Georgia Family Violence Act and cruelty to children in the third degree.

A short time after being taken to the jail, Eatonton Police Chief Kent Lawrence said he placed Perrault on administrative leave without pay, pending the completion of an internal investigation.”

Go figure. Other than cops, who likes to have power and control over others?

“Verona Borough Council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to terminate Verona borough police Officer Anthony Ogline, who is charged with child pornography.

Borough Manager Jerry Kenna said the actions of Ogline do not represent the borough of Verona. Ogline was arrested and charged last week with child pornography. He was immediately suspended without pay.

On Jan. 16, Whitehall police were investigating after a 16-year-old boy walked away from his school at midday and got into a black sedan.

Police tracked the boy’s location to an address in Verona borough Jan. 17. According to the criminal complaint, the address was owned by Ogline, a Verona borough police officer.

As police attempted to make contact, Ogline arrived in his car with the boy.

Police said Ogline had picked the boy up from school and provided him with alcohol and marijuana and exchanged pornographic images with him.

Ogline said he did provide alcohol to the teen, but denied smoking marijuana and said he would consent to a drug test to prove that.

Ogline has been charged with possession of child pornography, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and several other charges.”

And there you have it; You never know who the man with the gun is. “He’s a cop, he risks his life everyday” “It’s one of the Heroes in blue..” It’s just a few bad apples”…. Bullshit and more bullshit. These are guys who choose to control others for a living. These are guys who are 2 to 4 times more likely to commit domestic violence than the average person (1). These are guys who routinely lie, beat and steal as part of their daily routine (2) These are guys that you may not want to be pulled over by on a dark lonely highway.  Stay safe…

“A Denver police officer has been arrested and jailed on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman he had met last month while responding to a call at her home, the Denver Police Department said Saturday.

Johnny Leon-Alvarez

DPD announced in a news release that Johnny Leon-Alvarez, 29, was arrested after he was named as a suspect in the investigation of a sex assault reported early Friday. He has been a Denver police officer since 2018 and was suspended without pay after the arrest, the release said.

An arrest affidavit says Leon-Alvarez met the 27-year-old victim in December when he was among officers who responded to her home. She had called police “regarding an argument she had with her significant other.”

After meeting her, the affidavit says, Leon-Alvarez began contacting the woman.

“One of the officers who responded began texting her afterward to check on her,” the document says. “Over time the (texts) became flirty, until the previous evening (Thursday) when they arranged to go on a date.”

The woman told police that Leon-Alvarez took her to Dave & Busters, an arcade and restaurant, on Thursday night. She said she recalled drinking, and at midnight the officer drove her home, the affidavit says.

“She tried to say goodnight at the door,” the report says. “She did not remember how he ended up coming in the house.”

The affidavit says police were called to her home at 2:55 a.m. Friday, and it says the woman’s roommate corroborated some details of her report, including that the woman protested any physical activity.”

In two separate studies, 40% of police officers self-report that they have used violence against their domestic partners within the last year. Who’s pulling you over? 8th Paterson Cop arrested for stealing during illegal traffic stops

Just a few bad apples right? Of course it is and that would explain why I have hundreds of pages and thousands of stories posted here. These cops lying, stealing and worse are not anomalies, but rather the norm.    Why tell the truth when you can lie and it will believed because of your blue privilege? Why not swagger and throw your ass around when you are backed up by all of your cohorts who do the same?   It is not a far jump from that starting point to theft, cover up and civil rights violations.     Any time you are in contact with LEO, both your life and freedom are in danger. You never know the true face that hides behind that badge and gun….. Until you see it.

“A Paterson police sergeant was arrested Tuesday as part of an internal affairs and FBI investigation into corruption within the city’s department, authorities said Tuesday.

Sgt. Michael Cheff is the eighth city police officer arrested in the FBI’s corruption probe that began three years ago, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.”

“Cheff is accused of civil rights violations and falsifying police reports. According to an FBI complaint, Cheff is accused of stealing more than $2,000 from the safe of an alleged drug dealer and sometimes falsified paperwork to cover up the thefts of money that other officers stole.”

“The investigation has focused on police officers who allegedly stole thousands in cash from people after illegally stopping and searching their vehicles.

Last year, Officer Daniel Pent admitted to being part of a conspiracy in which the officers routinely illegally stopped residents, both in their vehicles and on the street, and stole money and other items from them.

Cheff, who has been on the job since 1996, was the sergeant who supervised five former patrol officers who have pleaded guilty to taking money from motorists, passengers and other people they illegally stopped.”

Who’s pulling you over? 2019 wrap up from Baltimore

module-everyday-heroes-right

“A Baltimore police officer caught on tape last year beating a suspect went to prison this year. A veteran police sergeant filmed allegedly arresting, threatening and harassing innocent men faces a slew of charges. And more officers tied to the Gun Trace Task Force were charged or sentenced in federal court.

A violent 2019 in the city was also a busy year for prosecutors, internal affairs detectives and others charged with policing Baltimore’s police. Court records, sentencing memorandums and Baltimore Sun archives show that at least 20 Baltimore police officers — including some who are no longer with the department — were either charged, sentenced, or suspended during 2019.

The scope of the crimes and allegations are broad and follow a particularly notorious 2018, which included federal arrests and trials of officers of the GTTF, and another officer charged with drug trafficking. This year’s charges range from drunken driving to an officer being sentenced to five years in prison after nearly running over a man in a crosswalk, then drawing his gun after the man spilled tea on his car.

The public relations damage crested in October, when Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby said she had a list of “hundreds of officers” with alleged credibility issues.

A total of 305 officers were flagged in Mosby’s list that was forwarded to the department this month.

Baltimore police officials say they are working to address not only problems in the department, but also to become more responsive to members of the public. Police Commissioner Michael Harrison released a staffing plan last week that calls for more than doubling the number of internal affairs detectives to help reduce backlogs and respond more swiftly to complaints against officers.”
